At Beauty Nation Academy, we take immense pride in watching our students grow and flourish, both during their time with us and beyond. Recently, one of our talented graduates, Aafreen Ali had the opportunity to return and lead a fantastic henna masterclass, showcasing not only her expertise but also her passion for sharing knowledge. It was a moment of immense pride for our academy, as she guided a group of girls through the intricacies of henna design, inspiring creativity and confidence in equal measure.
The masterclass was designed to introduce students to the basics of henna art, with a special focus on understanding the differences between natural and artificial henna. She began by ensuring the students understood the importance of using safe, natural products, while also demonstrating the beautiful results that can be achieved with natural henna.
One of the highlights of the session was the use of henna design templates. These templates allowed the students to practise their skills with ease, guiding them step by step in creating their first designs. For many of the participants, it was their first experience with henna, and the templates provided a useful starting point to build their confidence. As the class progressed, they were encouraged to step away from the templates and begin experimenting with their own designs, adding a personal touch to their creations.
The atmosphere in the room was one of excitement and discovery, as students learned to express themselves through the art of henna. It was truly heart-warming to witness the sense of empowerment that came with each brushstroke, as they realised their potential to create intricate and beautiful patterns. Beyond the technical aspects of henna design, this class fostered a supportive environment, where the students were encouraged to embrace their individuality and develop their creative skills.
What made this masterclass even more special was the inclusion of guest speaker Ayrine Islam, a successful brand marketing expert. Ayrine spoke passionately about her experience in the beauty industry, offering valuable insights on how to build a personal brand and market oneself in a competitive field. Her expertise on branding, social media, and customer engagement was incredibly well-received by the students, who were eager to learn how they could turn their newfound skills into a potential career. Ayrine’s talk highlighted the importance of not only honing technical skills but also understanding the business side of the beauty industry—a crucial lesson for anyone looking to grow in the field.
We are so proud of the journey our graduate has taken, and this masterclass was a wonderful demonstration of how much can be achieved when passion meets dedication. The young participants left the session not only with a deeper understanding of henna art but also with the confidence to continue exploring their creative abilities.
